What we do?

Who we are

Welcome to our website. We are Lukas and Richard, a father and son musical duo from Prague, the Czech Republic. We are both predominantly violinists but during our gigs we use many other instruments, from guitars to the double bass to a church organ.

Our music

Besides classical music, jazz standards and several compositions of our own, we focus mainly on the music of French jazz-rock violinists Jean-Luc Ponty and Didier Lockwood, and the British progressive rock group Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

Our concerts

We enjoy switching instruments and genres at our gigs and often within one song. A varied repertoire has always been our goal and we stick to the principle that every performance will be at least 50 percent different from the previous one. Improvisation is also an important part of our concerts.

Richard Klíma

violin, keyboards, guitars, mandolin, vocals

Richard started to play the violin at the age of five and over time, he began playing other instruments - guitar, piano, mandolin, bass guitar, drums... In 2014, Richard won a national competition of music schools in viola and was awarded a special prize for the interpretation of Paul Hindemith's solo piece. He also composes music by himself and together with Lukas he arranges songs of his favourite authors for Klíma Duet.

Lukáš Klíma

violin, guitar, vocals

Lukas is a devoted musician, he likes solo violin music, symphonic music and classic rock. He is a violinist in the Piccola Orchestra, and he also sings in the Bohemia Choir. However, his biggest passion is playing with his son Richard in Klíma Duet.
